Qualified as a physiotherapist in 2000 and completed her Masters in 2016 both from University of Witwatersrand. She completed her Paediatric neurodevelopmental training in 2002 and got involved with working with children with disabilities. She still works at a school for children with disabilities and calls this her morning job. She fell in love with pelvic floor rehabilitation after having her own issues after having children. She loved learning about how the body should work through pregnancy and birth and how simple education can make such a big impact in post-natal recovery.
She completed a one year speciality training course in 2012 and continues to improve her skills and knowledge in this field through various adult and paediatric courses. She eventually had to fuse her passion for paediatrics with that of pelvic floor. Her passion for this ever-evolving field continues to grow and she learns the most from her patients every day. ‘I love what I do but mostly I love seeing the look on a patients face when everything clicks and they realise they have the control and confidence to continue without me.’
