This two-part course is aimed at Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists wanting to increase their knowledge in assessing and treating persistent pain. Pain is complex and it can be overwhelming and challenging to treat patients with persistent pain. A comprehensive assessment allows one to understand their patient and better describe their pain mechanisms. This then allows the therapist to design patient-centred treatment programmes best suited to their needs.
This course aims to provide a basic overview of pain and its complexities. It also aims to describe assessment principles, tips and outcome measures to be used for patients with persistent pain.
