This course is intended for those who work with children and wish to know more about how trauma impacts the child.

Trauma affects every area of a child’s life:

• Development
• Wellbeing
• Relationships
• Behaviour, and
• Learning

Significantly, trauma predisposes a child to further trauma. This course is intended as an introduction to how trauma occurs, an overview of the effects of trauma, how trauma shows up in the classroom, specifically with regards to learning and relationships.

Suggested approaches and techniques to working with individuals who have experienced trauma are discussed, as well as important considerations for the Practitioner.
