Course Focus

This is an Intermediate course for Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists, which aims to provide you with the tools to help solve the mystery of cognition and help your patients improve their level of function. This course is aimed at therapists who treat adults with cognitive deficits from Neurological and other conditions.

Course Objectives

Understanding of Cognitive Skills & Rehabilitation principles of these

• Understand the cognitive skills of attention, memory, information processing and executive functions
• Understand the influence of cognitive deficits on communication
• Understand and implement a model of cognitive rehabilitation including education, process training, strategy training and functional skills training to address impairments in these cognitive skills
