Dr Feben is a senior consultant medical geneticist in the Division of Human Genetics at the NHLS and a lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand. Dr Feben completed her fellowship through the College of Medical Geneticists in 2012 and has been working in the Clinical Section of the Division since then. She completed her masters research in Fanconi anaemia, a rare genetic disorder associated with bone marrow failure and congenital anomalies and continues to pursue research in this field. She is also actively involved in research into the molecular basis of developmental disorders in children using whole exome sequencing as a diagnostic tool. She is committed to finding holistic solutions for patients and families affected by genetic disorders.
