Strengthening Professional Capacity for Caregivers, Parents, Educators, and Health Practitioners to identify, respond to, and prevent GBV.

ABOUT THE TALK:  Gender-Based Violence (GBV) continues to impact individuals across all sectors of society, often presenting in subtle and overlooked ways. This session provides a structured, multidisciplinary approach to understanding GBV, with a focus on early identification, appropriate response, and ethical responsibility. Participants will gain practical, trauma-informed strategies to support affected individuals while navigating their professional roles. The session also explores collaboration across caregiving, educational, and healthcare environments to strengthen prevention and intervention efforts.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:  Cheryl-Jane is a community development practitioner and founder of RoseRebs Development Initiative, focusing on gender-based violence awareness, youth empowerment, and social impact programs. With experience in facilitating community dialogues, educational sessions, and advocacy initiatives, Mpumelelo works closely with young people, parents, and stakeholders to address social challenges. Passionate about creating safe and informed communities, Cheryl-Jane brings practical, real-world insight into GBV prevention and response.
