TITLE: How Grooming Really Works: Evidence-informed insights to strengthen recognition and response
ABOUT THE TALK: This course explores how grooming operates in real-world contexts, drawing on research to challenge common myths and assumptions. Participants will examine patterns of behaviour, power, and influence, and how these can be recognised across different settings. The training highlights why grooming is often missed, misunderstood, or minimised, and what this means for professional judgement. Through practical examples, participants will consider how to respond appropriately and avoid common pitfalls. By the end, participants will feel more confident in identifying grooming behaviours and applying evidence-informed thinking to their safeguarding practice.
