TITLE: Executive Dysfunction: Beyond “Just Try Harder”
Real-world strategies for therapists working with adults with ADHD and ASD
ABOUT THE TALK: Executive dysfunction isn’t a lack of motivation, it’s a mismatch between what your brain needs and what the world expects. Executive functioning is often talked about in theory, but far less often understood in the context of real, messy daily life. This webinar takes a practical and neurodiversity-affirming approach to understanding executive dysfunction in adults with ADHD and mild ASD, exploring how challenges with task initiation, working memory, planning, and emotional regulation actually show up day to day. The session will highlight the role of the occupational therapist in moving beyond insight to meaningful, functional change, using strategies that are realistic, flexible, and client-centred. Attendees can expect a space that is honest and real, with tools and perspectives that can be applied immediately in practice.
