TITLE: Emotional Well-Being 101: What the Science Says About Cultivating Positive Emotions
ABOUT THE TALK: This presentation introduces healthcare professionals to the science of emotional well-being, with a focus on cultivating positive emotional states such as calm, gratitude, joy, hope, connection, and contentment.
Attendees will learn why positive emotions matter for resilience, coping, motivation, cognitive flexibility, and long-term mental health. The presentation will also distinguish emotional well-being from toxic positivity, while introducing evidence-informed practices such as savouring, gratitude, mindfulness, behavioural activation, compassion, and values-based action.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Nevern Subermoney is a registered clinical psychologist currently pursuing additional qualifications in industrial and organisational psychology.
