It is essential to take children’s interests and motivations into account and involve parents/caregivers during assessments. The goal of this presentation is to enable therapists to integrate authentic assessment into their respective assessment frameworks, as it is essential for therapists in South Africa to conduct assessments in a manner that considers different contextual factors. The presentation will address theories underlying the concept, relevance of the concept in South Africa, practical tips, examples of materials as well as sustainability of the concept.
