Occupational Therapist

Frances Joubert qualified in 2007 from the University of Pretoria. She has worked extensively in both the government and private paediatric sector. She gained experience in paediatrics both in the United Kingdom and in South Africa and completed her Masters Degree through the University of the Witwatersrand in 2013.

In 2013 she co-founded JLJ Occupational Therapists that specialises in paediatric medico-legal assessments, and in 2015 her own paediatric practice. Frances has been a guest speaker on radio discussing integration during learning and presented on community integration aspects in the treatment of children with ASD during an Autism conference. Her research in Arthrogryposis has been published in the British Journal of Occupational Therapy under the title ‘Self-care of children with arthrogryposis in Gauteng, South Africa’.

Frances is currently pursuing her PhD looking at the neurophysiology underlying sensory modulation. She has a passion connecting with children and sees therapy as a dynamic and constantly changing process that allows for growth – both for the child and the therapist.
